Using Robot Rabbits to Combat Python Problem in US State
How this US state is using robot rabbits to fight its python problem

The South Florida Water Management District and the University of Florida have joined forces to tackle the invasive python problem in the state by using robot rabbits. These solar-powered robots are designed to imitate marsh rabbits, enticing pythons out of hiding so that agents in the Everglades can remove them. Burmese pythons pose a serious threat to the Everglades ecosystem as they prey on native wildlife. Due to the challenges in capturing these snakes, the robotic decoys have been introduced as a new tool for the Python Elimination Program. Scientists have repurposed 40 toy rabbits by replacing their stuffing with waterproofed electrical components to withstand the region's rain and humidity. The robot rabbits can produce a heat signature and emit a scent to attract pythons. They are also equipped with cameras to detect the snakes and alert officials for further action.

What scientists said about these remote controlled robot rabbits

In a statement to the Palm Beach Post, Robert McCleery, a professor of wildlife ecology and conservation at the University of Florida, mentioned, "Our partners have allowed us to trial these things that may sound a little crazy. Working in the Everglades for 10 years, you get tired of documenting the problem. You want to address it."

Additionally, the state of Florida hosts the Florida Python Challenge annually, where participants are encouraged to capture and humanely euthanize Burmese pythons for a chance to win prizes up to $10,000. The South Florida Water Management District reported that Burmese pythons were first spotted in the Everglades in the 1970s, likely linked to the pet trade where some were either released intentionally or escaped into the wild.

The district emphasized, "Every python that is removed and eliminated is making a difference to protect the Everglades and South Florida's diverse and native wildlife. Invasive pythons are one of the most destructive and harmful species in America's Everglades, as their aggressive predation on native wildlife affects panthers, raptors, bobcats, and other native predators."

5 Simple Ways to Detect Spy App on Your Smartphone
5 Simple Ways to Detect Spy App on Your Smartphone
In a recent ruling in a Divorce case, the Madhya Pradesh High Court held that a wife's private WhatsApp chat can be allowed to be presented as evidence under Section 14 of the Family Court Act, 1984 even if they are obtained without her permission. In this case, the husband accessed his wife's private WhatsApp chat via a special app installed on her phone (likely a spy app) without her knowledge and found out that she was having an extra-marital affair. His lawyers decided to present this as evidence in the court and seek divorce on the grounds of cruelty and adultery. The wife's lawyers challenged this move and did not want her WhatsApp chats to be presented to the court, arguing that this action by the husband violated her right to privacy under Article 21 of Constitution of India and Sections 43, 66 and 72 of the Information Technology Act. The Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected this argument and said that even though the right to privacy has been recognized as a fundamental right, the same is not absolute and is subject to exceptions and limitations.
