Apple iPhone 17 'Air' may pack a 2,900mAh battery: Report

Apple's new slim iPhone model – iPhone 17 Air's alleged battery details have leaked online. According to tipster Majin Bu, the battery on the upcoming iPhone 17 Air model will feature a 'compact and refined design'. The leakster claims that the handset may have a battery capacity of 2,900mAh, "a choice aimed at achieving a slimmer profile, consistent with Apple's Air aesthetic." Similar to the iPhone 16 Pro, the battery on iPhone 17 Air may be housed in a steel case to improve heat dissipation and battery density. Majin Bu also shared images of the battery case that shows an L-shaped design, which fits the reduced logic board of the iPhone 17 Air. Further, similar to other models under the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 17 Air will feature new battery adhesives, making replacement easier.

According to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International, the rumored iPhone 17 Air may feature an Aluminum body. The device is said to come with a lightweight design as compared to the titanium Pro models. The phone is said to offer a 6.6-inch display. The analyst suggests that Apple may use a 3 nanometer A19 chipset, similar to the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro models. The processor may be paired with 8GB of RAM. On the camera front, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a single camera on the back with a 48MP sensor. For selfies, the handset may have a 24MP camera at the front. The phone is tipped to offer Face ID support. Pu added that the new iPhone model may have a brand-new design and offer Apple Intelligence features as well. On the software front, the handset will run on the new iOS 26 with Liquid Glass Interface.
